Grammarly was founded in 2009 and is headquartered in San Francisco with additional offices in Kyiv, New York, and Vancouver.

 

Grammarly is an artificial intelligence-powered online service for English writing assistance language. The service helps to write in English more efficiently and provides recommendations for correctness, clarity, fascination, and tone of the message. Grammarly’s mission is to improve life by improving communication.

 

Thanks to the active development and implementation of innovative solutions, the number of daily active users of the product is constantly growing and, according to data for 2019, has already amounted to more than 20 million people.

 

Grammarly was included in the rating of “The Most Innovative Companies of the World 2019” in the category Artificial intelligence according to the publication Fast Company, as well as in the list of ”The best companies to start a career 2020” (Wealthfront‘s Career-Launching Companies 2020) by Wealthfront.

Task

This project is a new modern high-tech office in the city of Kyiv (with a total area of about 3000 sq. meters), where every detail is thought out for efficient and comfortable work, as well as an environmentally friendly approach to the use of resources.

 

The main tasks for DEKOM were: design, supply, installation, configuration, and programming multimedia and audiovisual equipment, meeting room booking systems, Wi-Fi and network equipment, video surveillance.

 

But the most unique challenge of the project was that the client needed a system that would allow centralized to manage various office systems such as lighting, air conditioning, humidification, control displays, monitor system data.

Meeting Rooms

More than 20 meeting rooms are equipped with professional displays, cameras, microphones, speakerphones, sound systems that allow using video conferencing to conduct video calls from employees and partners around the world, conduct training, record webinars. 

When designing and selecting equipment, the dimensions of the rooms and their acoustic features were taken into account.

At the entrance of all meeting rooms, there are booking panels that display the current occupation and schedule booked events in this room.

For convenient management of video calls in each meeting room, a control tablet is installed on the table, and also uses wireless presentation for comfortable and efficient collaboration.

Meeting rooms of the Huddle Room type for convenience are equipped with video conferencing bars “all in one“.

Also in the office, a transforming room has been designed and equipped, which can be divided into 4 independent meeting rooms. The division/merging of rooms is controlled from the control tablet, video re-switching occurs automatically

The large conference room is specially designed as the room is used as a conference room for conducting video conferencing, and a cinema with local presentations. 

For conference calls, professional displays are used, a ceiling array of microphones, which covers the entire hall and does not require separate microphones for participants.

Two installed cameras for video conferencing enable and the flexibility of displaying both the speaker and the entire auditorium.

 

The cinema mode uses a projector, a motorized projection screen. This room also provides a system for wireless transmission of presentations.

 

To control audio, video switching, turn on/off display devices, a program has been developed control, the interface of which is installed and displayed on the control tablet for ease of use.

Information displays are located in all office work areas.

 

The kitchen, sports area, and recreation areas have a background sound system. All employees can broadcast audio from your devices wirelessly.

 

The event area has five displays that allow everyone in attendance to see content in good quality. This zone is intended for both video calls and local meetings.

Video conferencing system

Three cameras maximally cover the entire guest area and scene, make it possible to flexibly choose which video cameras send to the remote side and display locally. The format of events held in this zone involves the use of handheld microphones and headband microphones for the speakers, allowing communication with the remote side and conduct local events.

 

Collaborate comfortably and efficiently, as well as enables wireless presentation use. To control audio and video switching, switching on / by turning off display devices, adjusting their brightness, a special control program has been developed, the interface of which is displayed and installed on the control tablet for ease of use.

The automation system provides for the integration of the system with many different types of devices.

The developed automation system provides the ability to centrally manage and monitor several systems with many devices: air conditioning, humidification, office lighting, control meeting room displays from a single device using the user interface installed on the control tablet.

 

The program interface is branded and complies with the standards, requirements, and wishes for UX / UI.

LIGHTING

The system provides the ability to turn on / off the whole office lighting at the same time, or separately. It is integrated with local switches, dimmers. After sunset and before dawn in the meeting rooms and work areas (zoned), the light is automatically turned on by the presence sensors. The interface displays the current status of light groups (on, off, brightness level).

 

CONDITIONING

The system provides the ability to turn on / off all air conditioners at the same time or separately. The system also includes information data on the user interface on the current air temperature, the current condition of the air conditioner (on or off), and the ability to change the current operating mode, target temperature.

 

HUMIDIFICATION

The system provides the ability to turn on / off all humidification zones at the same time, or separately. Also, the system provides data on the current air humidity, the current state of the zone (on or off), and the ability to change the target humidity.

 

DISPLAYS

Displays automatically turn on at the beginning of the working day and turn off at the end of the working day. Throughout the day, displays are kept on. The interface provides the ability to turn on / off all displays at the same time or separately. Also, the current state of the display (on or off) is displayed there. In case there is a need for a meeting room to work longer than the set working time, there is the option to cancel the display off in this room.

 

CONFERENCE ROOM

The system provides flexible control of display facilities (on / off) and video and audio sources. Also, for simplified control, two scenarios are programmed in which audio, video, and display sources are automatically selected.

The video surveillance system allows you to monitor the entire area of the office and record this information for further view by the administrator.

WI-FI and Network Equipment

Installed Wi-Fi access points provide network coverage for the entire office, which allows you to connect to the network in anywhere in the office, including all recreation areas

Result

This project is a complex solution. Office area, a variety of functional zones, the wishes of the customer demanded a special approach to creating the architecture of the solution, and applications. Also, when selecting equipment, design requirements were met (color, style, organic appearance view regarding the design of the premises and the office as a whole).

A particularly important and unique task was the development of automated control systems for office equipment, namely: multimedia equipment, lighting system, air conditioning system, and air humidification.

The implementation of this project provided:

  • Increasing the efficiency of the team through the use of professional audiovisual solutions

  • Loyalty of employees due to care for their comfort

  • Energy savings due to the presence of presence sensors that turn on the light when detected movements that work after sunset

  • Reducing the time spent on technical support of meeting rooms, because the program itself regulates the operation of displays and turns them on / off on schedule

  • Centralized switching off / on and monitoring of light, air conditioning, humidification, ventilation.
